Can't get Static Page option to recognise Home Page

Hello, when I’m using Fluida, and when I try to set the site to Static Page it doesn’t give me Home as an option. I’ve tried this several ways: 1) With Home as a customised link, 2) Using automated pages, and 3) going in via Settings. Nothing works. If it set it as Posts, then it works, but then my blogs don’t appear in my blog page. It’s driving me nuts. Please can you advise? Many thanks

p.s. happy to give you access to the site if that helps!

    Hi,

I’m having the same problem; can’t find Home as an option for Static Page. Can you tell me how you’ve fixed it, please?

Thank you so much in advance!

@chrisrossjones, the theme’s landing page feature is only enabled when the homepage is set to display the posts list. Setting a static homepage overrides it.

    @Theone_Joostensz
, what are you trying to do?

@Zed: I’m trying to create a separate blog page, in addition to or instead of the landing page. I don’t mind the landing page showing my blog posts, but I’d like to add another page where my blogs show, as well.

@theone_joostensz, due to how Fluida enables its landing page feature it is not currently possible to use the ‘Blog’ page option concurrently.

I really hope the last reply is an error?
It’s a theme built around BLOG posts all over the landing page, so why not allow us a proper blog page?

Isn’t is easy to implement some shortcode [BLOG] to allow us to show the blog on that page?

    Chris,
you say you figured it out and on your site, I see a page for BLOGS, can you please let us know how you did it?

    Thanks

@skpManiac, there is no error in my reply. With the current theme functionality there is no way to use both the landing page feature and create a “blog” page on the site.
We used to include a “blog” page template with our themes (all our older ones have it) but we were asked to remove it during the theme’s review for approval in the repository (the reviewers didn’t see its purpose). Also, repository themes are not allowed to include shortcode functionality.
This is why in all our newer themes we’ve reversed the behaviour of the landing page (making it activate when a static page IS set) – and we will be doing this switch in Fluida as well, in a future bigger update.

The site linked in the initial topic is currently running Septera.
