Blog Posting on Presentation Page

I’m trying to limit the number of postings on the main page to 2-3. I enabled posts on the front page, obviously. I’m trying to set them to be the posts I deliberately choose. I see the option to do so under appearances, but the website does not update accordingly. It just shows all the active posts. The columns feature and the post-populating source doesn’t seem to work (under presentation page options). Furthermore, I want a separate page that features only news blog posts. However, it just mirrors the exact layout of the presentation page. I want the news page to populate with “News” category posts and the front page to either have a selection based on post ID or from the category “FRONT PAGE” posts.

The customization is frustrating. Please help!

The theme’s presentation page normally replaces the default WordPress homepage (which lists posts). It can also be configured to display a list of recent pots (the same list) or not.

Additionally, you can also create a separate page to display your posts list (this is core WordPress functionality, not theme specific).

I understand what you’re trying to achieve but there is no built-in theme functionality to filter any of these posts lists. You can, however, try to use plugins to accomplish it.
