Tempera 1.2.7 wakes up from hibernation

It’s been a long three months of freezing winter (with massive amounts of snow in places), but Tempera is now well rested and ready to return to fighting with the higher forces.

During this first round the fight consists of mostly localization and styling fixes, with a touch of Google fonts, new translations and some IE quirks. The pièce de résistance is, of course, the (hopefully last attempt to) fix for the “Load More” posts button on the presentation page. For a full detailed list of winning strikes, check out the changelog:

  • improved two somewhat untranslatable strings (that used esc_attr__() )
  • removed baseline vertical alignment from styling reset to correct some weird alignment layouts
  • fixed Google fonts merging issue when subsets are used
  • fixed an untranslatable string (thanks to seemannKP)
  • fixed max-width leftovers in editor-style.css (which among other things made large images appear distorted in the editor)
  • fixed ol double digits numbering not fitting into view
  • fixed 2 typos in settings page
  • added Portuguese (Brazil) translation
  • added Japanese translation
  • fixed layout/image border option non-clickable on IE 11
  • fixed disappearing/too small images inside tables issue on Chrome
  • (absolutely positively definitely) fixed Ajax “Load More” posts button (hopefully…)
Tempera is a free WordPress theme, created by Cryout Creations, that is responsive and extremely customizable. For more info check out the theme's page.

  1. Tempera is a great theme. But there is one problem: The “blockquote”-tag doesn’t work in comments. If you make a citation in an article, the formatting will come correct with the big ” before the text. But in comments is no difference to see between citations and normal text.

  2. I’m trying to take the border out on one of my tables and no matter what CSS I use it won’t go away. I’ve even attempted changing the color to match the background but that doesn’t work either. I only want the border gone on this one table, so changing the color in the settings isn’t an option.

  3. Hello,

I have a problem trying to remove meta bar, I selected the option to hide Meta Bar Position it but doesn’t do it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  4. Hi there,

I love Tempera and thank you for all the work you’ve put into it. I’m having a few issues, though, that I hope you can help with.

    1. I can’t change the main font (font within posts). I know how to in the settings, and I’ve changed the other fonts successfully. I’ve even been able to change the size of the main font, just not the style. Am I missing something?

    2. I’d like to just display one full post on the homepage and can’t find the place to set this.

    Thanks so much!

    1. 1. The General text option covers all text that is not affected by the other text options. This is the one applied to pages/posts content.
      2. This is not possible with existing functionality. You could search for a plugin that allows you to display a single post via shortcode and use the shortcode in one of the extra text fields on the homepage.

  5. I just uploaded Tempera and trying to create my first site. I cannot figure out how to use Google fonts. In the description of Tempera it says Google fonts were added – I did add the Easy Google font plug in – trying to change the font in the title and tag line, but it is not working How do I use google fonts?

      1. It supports as much HTML as WordPress’ filtering functions permit. All of the theme’s input fields must perform filtering for the theme to be approved in the repository.
