  1. Firstly,
Congratulations for this great theme. It really is awesome and it looks so good!

Sadly I am currently experiencing a bug:
The “Text Area 1” on the presentation Page keeps eating my HTML.
It saves but overwrites the content, only leaving segments.
This happens with my adsense code as well as a normal img code.

Can anybody explain what is wrong?

    Best regards,
    Markus

  2. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘(‘, expecting T_STRING in /home/ansio685/public_html/wp-content/themes/nirvana/includes/theme-loop.php on line 330… I think many people are having this problem..WE NEED HELP PLEASE!!

    1. This is a bug in the 1.0.1 release. We hope the update correcting it gets approved as soon as possible.

The bug does not seem to affect all sites (since we don’t get it on any of our test installs) and the only solution for the moment is either to correct it or manually return to 1.0.0.

  3. Keep getting this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘(‘, expecting T_STRING in /home/content/70/10299670/html/wp-content/themes/nirvana/includes/theme-loop.php on line 330

I just downloaded Nirvana, made “nirvana_child” folder, copied css and template and am getting error message “The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”

  8. Hi, I am Miguel from Spain !!

Sorry for my english, it is probably not the best ;-).

First of all congratulation guys !!!, … Nirvana is great template !!.

I am testing your template and found a little trouble. If I choose any other static page to set the posts, different as the Home (Presentation Page), they appear correctly but I go back to Home, it does not work. The page which is shown instead of the Home – Presentation page is the one I created with the same name for the menus.

It would be great, if you can tell me how I can fix it.

    Thanks in advance !!

      1. Hi Zed. Sorry maybe I do not express myself correctly.

The trouble is if you go to reading setting “Front page displays” and want to select a static page for the front page and another for the posts page. If you do not select any page for front page, and blog for the post page, both of the pages show the blog page once the changes have been saved. And if I have a static page called Home, the front page is the static one instead of the presentation page.

It would be great if you tried to do it yourself. That way you might understand what I am trying to explain to you.

I would like to have the presentation page for the front page and a static page for the posts page.

For example it works correctly in the tempera template but not in Nirvana !.

        Hope, you can help !!

        1. Yes, things are a bit different with Nirvana because of new WordPress regulations. Basically the WordPress Reading Settings have precedence. It’s all pretty natural really:

          1. If Front page displays is set to the default “Your latest posts” and you enable the Presentation Page => The Presentation Page will show as your home page

          2. If Front page displays is set to “A Static Page” you MUST set a Front Page to use. That’s the whole idea. And that static page will become the home page. If a static page is set here, Nirvana’s own Presentation Page will not show up (even if enabled) – WP settings have precedence over theme settings.

You can then choose to use a blog page as well. That is optional.

You also say you want “a static page for the posts page.” You can’t have that. That doesn’t really make a lot of sense. A static page is a page with static, user input content. A posts page is a page with posts on it.

If you want a certain page to be used as a blog page you can use the Blog Page Template. Just edit that page and from the right sidebar, under Page Templates choose Blog (Posts Page).

          Hope all this makes sense!

  9. LOVE the new theme! I also have one request…

    — Would it be possible to make it compatible with Woommerce plugin?

It works almost fine, just two small issues
    – when I add widgets to the sidebar, these do not show up in the catalog/shop page of Woocommerce
    – On those pages, some defaults widgets appear – although not set to – on the bottom of the theme: the search, categories and pages widgets

On another theme I’ve tried – compatible with Woommerce, the widgets I set appear everywhere and no “default” widgets appear on their own.

I must stress this has nothing to do with the “beta” status of the theme, it is an extra thing, and same issues appear with Parabola, which I have also tried.

Woocommerce is one of the most prominent eshop plugins available, plus it is totally free, which is great and makes it even more appealing to the wider WordPress public.

  10. Thank You very much for this amazing and free theme!
I love Your theme very much and maybe I have created the first site in Nirvana: swestechnology{dot}com ๐Ÿ™‚ I had 1-2 days for the website, it was a big rush, but after publishing I continue working in the background. There is a lot of to do!

One question: the presentation view how could be implemented in child theme? (At this moment I’m using Nirvana itself.) What files should be copied in the child theme directory beside style.css?

    Many thanks!

    1. I couldn’t locate it with the automated install option but I’ve downloaded from the link above to my desktop then uploaded that zip file through themes in WordPress and that has worked fine.

      1. The theme is not available via the automated install yet. It’s still waiting approval from the WordPress Theme Review team. We’ll let you know when it does become available.
