This screenshot (.png image 386.6kB) shows the presentation page bug in action, with added comments. I cannot let the site stay live that way:

This is a bug that has been reported by several people, ever since the 1.4 update about 6 months ago, see for instance:

    http://www.cryoutcreations.eu/forums/t/updating-to-parabola-v1-4-0-made-the-slideshow-and-blog-posts-images-disepear

It has never been solved. It has been suggested that it might be a plugin that interferes. That is not the case. I have deactivated ALL plugins, deleted cache, tried different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Chromium, as well as using http://quirktools.com/screenfly/), WP is up-to-date, I use no custom CSS, Parabola is the latest version, and still the problem persists (see also screenshot linked to above):

    # Slider not showing (no images showing at all, just a “wait” or “loading” like icon in a circle turning round and round.

    # Menu no longer centered

    # Strange artifact showing at the end of the menu

What are my options? Stay with 1.3.4 forever? Or will there be a fix? If I donate $25 will something happen, perhaps? Or should I just cut my losses and build a new site with a different theme? Some clear response would be really nice and helpful.

    This has now been solved.

In case anyone else encounters this problem with Parabola:

The bug, it seems, actually only happens in a combination of specific browsers running in Linux. It still occurs in latest versions of Chrome and Chromium, but it does not happen in the latest Firefox (35).

Thanks a lot to CryoutCreations for taking the time to help get to the bottom of this.

    Greatly appreciated.

And Parabola is a great theme!

    happy surfin’
