How to create a blog page collecting posts?

Hi … it seems my question from yesterday got lost here somehow so I will repeat it.

I created an archive page (that is what it says as header on the page which I do not want) for some of my (blog)posts and included it into my main menue. It is called “unser VIP Blog”. This page is to collect all my category/blog posts.

The problem is that this new page (in the dashboard menue it is not called “page” but category) does not display the posts correctly. I assume this is because it is an archive. They are not shown correctly, i.e. being displayed in 2 columns and all links do not work, pictures are only very small, bold is not bold and so on.

I do not want an archive but a normal blog page where one reads each post one on top of the other. One should be able to read all posts and see all picture at one glance and in the same manner I posted them. Just like a blog. I hope this clearly understandable?!

How can I do this? I have been searching for days in the page, in forums, google and cannot find any hint how to manage that. Can you please help me?

    Thanks.

    Hi Tina,

As far I can see, it seams to me that you didn’t properly indicate (in your settings) which page is going to be your Blog page (and behave like a common blog).

Therefore, I would suggest you to check the following:
    1) Under the “Appearance” go to “Customize”
    2) There check the “Static Front Page” it should look something like this

According to how I understand your page:
    a) In the box under the “Front Page” in your concrete case should be “START” page as your static Home Page, and
    b) In the box under the “Post Page” I believe you should select the page titled as “BLOG”

When you do that, press the (blue) button on the top to SAVE this settings.

After that I believe your posts would work OK.

In addition, and if you want to remove the “Unser VIP Blog” page from your Primary Menu – you can do that under the “Appearance” –> “Menus”

I hope this would help you solve the issue. 🙂

    Hi Ana-Maria

Many thanks for your support. Unfortunately though your proposal did not work or I am understanding you completely wrong. When I do what you proposed nothing changes:

The posts still do not show up one on top of the other in “unser VIP Blog” … there are always 2 posts next to each other.
Also the posts lose all what I do to text like bold, underline, inverse etc. and the picture is very small, I want it to be displayed as large though as I configured it.

Maybe I did not say clearly enough what I want and what my page is all about:

    – It is a business page, so the präsentationpage is needed as well as the START/home-page which is to be static (isn’t it normally so that Start/home is static?).

    – In addition to the business details I want one page which is called “unser VIP blog”.

    – This “unser VIP Blog” is to carry/collect all posts I issue regarding this topic (only of this one category!), so it is of course to appear as an extra page and cannot be removed from the menue (I do not understand your proposal to do that). But it is not an important or main page, it is only to keep the crawler busy with it, if I can say so, as all other business pages will hardly be changed in future.

    – “Unser VIP Blog” shall look “nice” that is all posts should of course have all the formating features such as bold, underline, all pictures in original size etc.

I looked at the archive.php but could not find anything I could change regarding the look of the content of the archive (not that I know a big thing about this 🙂 ).

Or am I understanding you completely wrong?
At the moment the “unser VIP Blog” is an archive page. Should I change that? But if so, I tried it, ALL posts (also the ones with job opening and all others will appear on that page. This is not what I want! I only want the posts of the category “unser VIP Blog” to appear on the “unser VIP Blog” page!

I think the category-page was correct, only I need to change the settings of the look of the posts collected in the category page.

Do you have any idea how to achieve that?

    Thanks.

I find it so disappointing that there is not real support for the Cryout Creation themes. All other theme creators offer great free-of-charge support, but here one can wait and wait and nobody takes care of the problems.

The only support one sometimes get is the one from other users. Thank you to Ana-Maria.

Just to close my question properly and in case somebody else has the same problem, I was today (!) able to find the solution … after many and long days of searching and waiting for support here.

The solution can be found in the tempera settings under “Beitragzusammenfassungen” = in English = ?? = it is the 8th option in the settings. There is an option “archive/categoriepages” and needs to be set to “full” and there is some option like “newspaper layout”. This needs to be deactivated! Now I have an archive page with all all links and other formating features where all posts are listed up on top of the other, not next to each other.

How do I make the Blog pages on a separate page from the Home/Presentation page?
I need to have them separated in tabs. According to the Tempura Template – you can HIDE the posts, but I don’t want to HIDE them, I want them on a separate tab.
Can anyone please help me with this?
