So in my main menu across the top i have a set of pages called models and in there i have the left sidebar showing my menu for the models.

In my next main menu is the features and i want a different menu to show up in the same place…

I’m sure I’m just missing something obvious but every time i change the left sidebar it changes on all the pages

    Hi Chris

I’ve had a think and see what you are trying to do, but can’t figure out how to do it, as once you set the left side menu widget it would appear on every page you have left column showing. As a work around my suggestion would be to build separate pages (with the correct page template) and have the menu links on those instead, one for models and one for features.

    Hope this helps

Is it possible to write the steps to the suggested work around?

I do not believe it is possible because your sidebars are widgets and your pages have an “include” function on them to call the widget.

A viable work around would be to use your left bar for one set of pages and your right bar for another set of pages.

I use a custom sidebars plugin on my other site and it works GREAT. You an create as many sidebars as you wish and assign them to one or more pages. It gets a little hairy the more you add but it is quite easy to use and has held up through several upgrades. I would give it a try. Here’s the url:

Don’t know what happened but the URL did not appear above. I’ll try again

It appears that this UI does not want to take the link. The name of the plugin is Custom Sidebars by WPMUDEV. It’s the easiest one I’ve found. Good luck to you.
